So while our house goes through its caterpillar-like metamorphosis, we are forced to relocate to a temporary apartment. At first we resisted the idea of moving out of the house - but as you see with the ongoing construction pictures, it would of been an absolute nightmare staying there. All of us huddled together in a dusty bedroom - sharing a temp power cord? Uhmm..Not going to work.
So Sheryl found this little gem only a few blocks away from our house and it serves our needs very well. it has 3 bedrooms, decent rooms and access..
..and another beautiful feature is we are living high over the carport. And while you roll your eyes, it is a great thing. This way we literally have no neighbors below, or next, to annoy. That comes in handy when your three lugs are flopping themselves heavily on the floor in heated zombie/nerf death-matches.
Here is the view walking in the front door. Recently refinished hardwood floors, real hanging blinds and operating sliding metal windows. Again, it really is a bright and cheery place. Small localized kitchen - but it all works. No dishwasher - Kids are suddenly and violently thrown into a world where they must (gasp) wash their own dishes. (knock -knock) I hope that isn't CPS at the door!
It has been what, 15+ years since I lived in an apartment- and all the romantic elements of that past comes flooding back to me. Trying to double park with 12 others cars, hearing other tenants discussions, smelling all sorts of varied cooking, and my favorite, the banging and growling of the garbage trucks emptying dumpsters right under your window! (The kids real do love that part!)
Looking down the hallway towards one of two bathrooms.
Bathroom #One
Bathroom # two
Looking on the the kids room - a good example of the layout. Full windows - tons of light. Much better than the places I used to stay at. This is either the kids stuff before or after they unpacked. I can't tell.
So progress is still being made on the house - stayed tuned!
