Day five saw things getting serious - they called in a crane to lift the AC unit off the roof. I would have preferred to cut it off and let it slide off the roof and crash to the ground. But I guess the workers below frowned at the idea. Can't a homeowner have a little fun?
The crane operator was some seasoned old salt who could work magic with the boom. He thread it through the tree branches ever so gently and snagged the old AC unit. He was in and out in about half an hour.
The backyard with all the debris carted out - and all that was left was jack hammering the patio and brick deck. If you ever want the opportunity to meet your neighbors, get a jackhammer and hammer for a day or two. Before you know it, the neighbors are coming to you and introducing themselves!
This is a slab of concrete from our previous owners. Barbara, Dick, Julie, and Shelly Sullivan. (Oh and Darcy!) circa 1967.
The Front of the house is now starting to get some attention.
They have the old cedar siding stripped off in practically no time!
The awning over the front door is about to be decapitated. The main worker in the center posed precariously with a live Sawz-All.
Somebody has been improvising with let-overs from our house. Apparently making a personal statement on our neighbors fence. Perhaps a little touch of home - you can't help but be moved.
